Connection Issues with the RKDev Tool

Here you'll find a variety of update tools and drivers for Rockchip and Amlogic chipsets.

Information about RKDevTool:

Connection problems; the device is not recognized by the PC

• If the device is not recognized by the PC, make sure that no ADB drivers from tablets, cell phones, or other Android devices are installed.
• You must use a USB-A to USB-A data cable; please note that these cables are also available as power-only cables. (Most common mistake!!!)
• USB debugging must be enabled on the Android device.
• Under Settings/Connected Devices, the OTG Mode Switch must be turned on.
• Make sure that Device Manager detects the device when you plug it in or unplug it. If not, replace the cable.
• Please install the latest drivers using Driver Assistant.
• Make sure you've connected to the correct USB port or OTG port.
• We keep having problems with laptops. Please use a regular desktop PC if possible!

Change the RKDevTool Language

Sometimes this tool is set to Chinese. You can easily change this by setting the language to 2 (instead of 1) in the config file located in the tool's folder.

Don't forget to save afterward!

Enable USB Debugging:

On Android, go to Settings, tap "About [Tablet/Phone]," and tap the build number quickly several times in a row (at least 7 times). This will enable developer options.

Then go back to Settings, select "System," and tap "Developer Options." There, look for "USB Debugging." It must be turned on. Then go to the "Standard USB Configuration" section and select "No file transfer."
