CPU Comparison

RK3588 vs. RK3576

RK3568 vs. RK3588 vs. RK3576

Of the three, the RK3588 SoCs are the most powerful and are therefore suitable for developing high-end NVRs with the best upscaling capabilities and AI video/image analysis for face and object recognition. The RK3576 ranks second, and the RK3568 ranks last. Both can be used to develop mid-range or low-end solutions to attract customers who do not require high-performance NVRs for their specific applications. Here is a more detailed analysis of how they compare. RK3568 vs. RK3588

The RK3588 is the top SoC for NVR development among the three, as it features a 6 TOPS NPU paired with a heterogeneous multi-core system consisting of a quad-core Cortex-A76 and a quad-core Cortex-A55. This AI computing power provides up to 8-channel AI detection capabilities for facial recognition, intelligent motion detection, and perimeter detection. Block diagram of the rk3588

The SoC can decode up to 32 channels at 1080p (supports single-channel-3200W-IPC access), while its encoding side processes half of that (16 channels) at the same resolution using H.264 or H.265 compression. Other notable features include:

ARM Mali-G610 GPU
Supports 4 screens
1,000 Mbit/s access speed with two Gigabit Ethernet ports
64-bit LPDDR4/LPDDR4x/LPDDR5 memory
Multiple connection options (PCIe 3.0, Dual RGMII, USB 3.0, SATA 3.0, etc.)

The RK3568 CPU features a less powerful 1 TOPS NPU paired with a quad-core Cortex-A55 CPU, but this combination is still capable of powering NVRs. Its high-speed connectivity options are nearly identical to those of the RK3588, but the SoC can only handle 10 decoding channels at 1080p (30 FPS), two encoding channels (also at 1080p), simultaneous output to two screens, and access speeds of up to 320 Mbit/s. The GPU in this chip is also less powerful, as it features the ARM Mali-G52 and supports only 32-bit DDR3 and DDR4 memory. RK3576 Functionality for Network Video Recorders

In terms of performance, the RK3576 falls between the RK3568 and the RK3588, as it has a similar 6 TOPS NPU to the RK3588 but is paired with a slightly less powerful heterogeneous core (quad-core Cortex-A72 and Cortex-A53).
